Thank you for joining us in the Student Zone at Microsoft Build 2020!

We had a great time hosting the Student Zone, and are excited so many of you joined us! We hope you found the sessions educational, interesting, and fun too. Our goal is to help fuel your dev passion, and that doesn't stop just because the 48 hours of Microsoft Build is over.

Explore this repository to find starter code for some of the projects and demos from the Student Zone, and check out Learn TV for more amazing resources.

What is Microsoft Build?

Microsoft's professional developer conference where, you guessed it, professional developers come to confer! By that, we mean where developers come to learn about how Microsoft can better support their unique developer journey. There were technical sessions, opportunities to meet and talk with experts, and the chance to discover and grow a technical community.

What is the Student Zone?

Each year at Microsoft Build we create a session track specifically aimed at student developers. The target age for our student developers is 14-21 years old, though that is really just there to guide us in scoping the content we create for you. So if you're a bit outside of these exact ages, you still might find this content useful for your coding journey! This may be perfect for you if you're a career switcher or an even just a beginner!

How can I find the resources mentioned in the Student Zone sessions?

Here are the sessions, speakers, slides, and videos of all Student Zone sessions from this year!

Minecraft: Education Edition

Educational Content on Minecraft

Minecraft has released a series of free educational sessions that parents can download to help children learn at home during COVID-19.

Minecraft Marketplace, which features items and add-ons that people can use in the popular block-building game, has a new Education section.

The educational content lets players explore the International Space Station, through a partnership with NASA, as well as learn to code with a robot, visit Washington DC landmarks, find and build 3D fractals, learn what it’s like to be a marine biologist and more. This is launching for free download today and will be available through June 30, 2020. Minecraft FREE Educational Session

Salman is also working on Minecraft: Education Edition content with MakeCode and will be updating the playlist here.
