Organizations to Promote Women in Tech

1. WIT Community

Women in Technology empowers girls and women to excel in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (STEAM) from the classroom to the boardroom. We do this by providing female students in middle school, high school, and college with education, exposure, and experience. By sharing the stories of successful professionals across the STEAM fields, we encourage all generations of girls and women to write their future.

2. Women Who Code

When you become a part of Women Who Code you gain access to programs and services that are designed to help you step up your tech career. We have over 200,000 members who are career-aged tech professionals operating at each level of the industry.

3. LearnITGirl

LearnIT Girl!: Their aim is to help women learn a programming language while doing an awesome project! But don't worry, you're not alone in this journey, each scholar has a mentor that guides them on their path. There are many roads you can take and we will make sure you go on the one that is best for you - without missing out on the important features of the chosen language.

4. Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code is on a mission to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does.

5. Girls Teaching Girls to Code

At Girls Teaching Girls to Code (GTC), we empower college girls pursuing Computer Science and Engineering to connect with local high school girls and inspire them through mentorship and applied projects.

6. PyLadies

PyLadies aims to provide a friendly support network for women and a bridge to the larger Python world. Anyone with an interest in Python is encouraged to participate!

7. Girls In Tech

Girls in Tech is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating the gender gap in tech.

8. Built By Girls

BUILT BY GIRLS prepares female and non-binary students to step boldly into careers powered by technology.

9. Girl Develop It

Girl Devleop It is a nonprofit organization that provides affordable programs for adult women and non-binary individuals to learn web and software development in a judgement free environment.

10. Techgirlz

TechGirlz inspires middle school girls to explore the possibilities of technology to empower their future careers. TechGirlz is accomplishing its mission through the creation of free, fun, interactive “TechShopz” led by industry professionals, community leaders, and students.

11. Codess

Codess is a community for female coders initiated by Microsoft. Codess was established to explore ways to promote gender diversity in the engineering field.

12. Code with Google

Through community-based programs and philanthropy, Google works to connect students from underrepresented groups to computer science education and to connect them to the tools they need to build skills for their futures. Click here

13. she++

she++ works to empower underrepresented groups in technology by dismantling negative stereotypes surrounding technical careers. We aim to dispel the misconception that computer science is not a career for women and minorities by rebranding what it means to be a technologist.

14. ACM W

ACM-W supports, celebrates, and advocates internationally for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field, providing a wide range of programs and services to ACM members and working in the larger community to advance the contributions of technical women.

15. STEM 4 Girls

STEM4Girls works to bring fun, educational workshops and camps available garner the interest of young minds in the hopes that it will help them throughout their lives.

16. GirlScript

GirlScript is working to change lives by imparting tech education and relevant skills. GirlScript is a non-profit project to support women in technology. We do it by imparting skills online and offline.

17. DevelopHER

DevelopHER to champion tech women and mentor fellow female engineers on the importance of negotiation and building their worth.

18. SheCodes

SheCodes is a community of women which provides coding workshops to women who are looking to have a career in technology.

19. Step Up

Step Up propels girls living or going to school in under-resourced communities to fulfill their potential by empowering them to become confident, college-bound, career-focused, and ready to join the next generation of professional women.

20. Rewriting the Code

Rewriting the Code is a growing virtual community of 10,000+ exceptional college and early career women with a passion for technology. They come from 700+ colleges and universities, and show their talent through engaging in projects, internships, hackathons, and volunteering for good.

21. HackerRamp: WeForShe

HackerRamp: WeForShe has been launched by Myntra in the year 2021. This is an opportunity for all women coders from engineering colleges across the country to create and innovate through technology.

Scholarships

1. Google Scholarships

• Generation Google Scholarship-Asia Pacific : Generation Google Scholarship: for women in computer science (formerly known as Women Techmakers Scholarship) was established to help aspiring students pursuing computer science degrees excel in technology and become leaders in the field. Selected students will receive $1,000 USD for the 2021-2022 school year. Generation Google Scholarship: for women in computer science will be awarded based on the strength of each candidate's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, demonstrated leadership, and academic performance. Note - This scholarship is also available in North America region (https://buildyourfuture.withgoogle.com/scholarships/generation-google-scholarship/) , and is aimed at groups historically excluded from the technology industry, including Women, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, American Indian, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander.

• Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship: This is a scholarship that will support university students in making the world a more sustainable place using technology and are passionate about the field of computer science and engineering. Students who are already using computer science to develop solutions for some of the challenges, or opportunities, that they see around them are invited to apply for the Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship. exclusive to India

• Google Conference and Travel Scholarships At Google, we believe a diversity of attributes, experiences, and perspectives are needed to build tools that can change the world. Everyone deserves an opportunity to pursue connections in the industry, networking with peers, and a career path in technology. To help break down the barriers that prevent underrepresented groups in technology and business from attending leading conferences, we're excited to offer Google Conference and Travel Scholarships for selected conferences in the tech industry and related fields.

2. Adobe Scholarships

• Adobe Research Women in Technology Scholarship : To bring more gender diversity to the technology industry, we are pleased to invite applications to the Adobe Research Women-in-Technology Scholarship. The Adobe Research Women-in-Technology Scholarship recognizes outstanding undergraduate and masters female students anywhere in the world who are studying computer science.

3. Palantir Global Impact Scholarship

Palantir has launched the Global Impact Scholarship to celebrate and support students from across the globe who are beginning careers in technology. We hope to encourage these students in their computer science, engineering, and technical studies, and celebrate their potential to become leaders in these fields. We especially encourage students from communities that are historically underrepresented in the field of technology to apply.

4. Nutanix .heart Women in Technology Scholarship

Nutanix strongly believes in the power of diversity and we want to increase the ratio of women on our engineering teams. So, we’re creating scholarships to help young women develop the skills they need to pursue their passion of computer science. We are offering up to ten scholarships to female students in the United States, India, UK and Serbia who want to apply their love of technology to make a positive impact on the industry and the planet.

5. Grace Hopper Celebration Scholarships

The GHC Scholars Program provides funds for women who are either undergraduate students, graduate students, or faculty to attend our Celebration. Women who get selected as scholars gain access to career and academic workshops, networking opportunities, and memories that will last a lifetime.

The SWE Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to those who identify as a female/woman and are studying community college, baccalaureate, or graduate programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science.
