githelperis a subcommand-based multi-purpose git tool and Python library, currently with a focus on git-svn working copies. It has its own documentation page -
git-checkout-by-date.shlets you do exactly that -
git-working-copy-check.pyperforms some sanity checks on git working copies, recursively if requested -
template/hookscontains git hooks, for example aprepare-commit-msghook to prepare informative merge commit messages
