Visual enhancement for apache's directory listing.

Also makes it a little more responsive and more usable.

Introduction

I use my Sites folder on OSX on a daily basis, so I felt the need to make the file listing a nice and cosy place. Can be used for any Apache file listing.

If you are a OSX user you may want to read this to make your sites folder work.

Installation

Place the files found in this repository in whatever folder you want to enhance with mod_autoindex.oh

Assume you want to share a folder called files

  • Download mod_autoindex.oh and unzip it in the files folder. Alternatively you can use shell go to your files folder and check out this project there git clone [email protected]:meodai/mod_autoindex.oh.git

  • run . configure.sh and type in the name of you folder files.

  • Share your folder!

Global installation

You can also use the modification system wide by cloning or extracting this repository where ever you like and then place the mod_autoindex.conf in /etc/apache2/other.

Make sure to adapt the /FULL/PATH/TO/LOCAL/COPY in lines 11 and 12 to match the path you used above.

MAMP installation

put the .htaccess file and the .theme folder inside the MAMP install's document root. Then edit the .htaccess and just replace all entries saying /($folder)/.theme with /.theme.

Hidden files

This project uses hidden .theme and .htaccess files. If you want to show the hidden project files in your Finder, enter this command in your Terminal: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

Customize

Feel free to edit all the files. In order to style the project differently. Edit .theme/style.css

On OSX 10.9 and 10.10 you can get your Sites folder back using this tutorial. After that just put the mod_autoindex.oh files in your Sites folder, and replace ($folder) with ~yourusername.
