Overview

Rboxlo is an open source decentralized Roblox private server framework, by the people, for the people. Rboxlo is for the individual in that anybody can clone its source code and set up their own private instance. Rboxlo has no ads, has no copyright and has all its source code dedicated to the public domain.

Rboxlo was created with the intention of allowing anybody to play Roblox games privately without restrictions imposed by anybody but yourself, making it the ultimate free Roblox private server.

Some distinct features about Rboxlo:

  • Decentralized, anybody can set up their own instance
  • Modern codebase with Docker containerization and optimized, fast, and secure code
  • Easy to set up
  • Public domain software, copyright-free
  • No corporate fellows telling you what is and what isn't allowed
  • You can set up your own community in a matter of seconds
  • Open source
  • ... and so much more to come!

Disclaimer

Rboxlo is a constant work in development, and as of right now, is not ready for production use. Please do not deploy this to your servers yet. All issues about setting up will be ignored.

Copyright

License

This is free and unencumbered software released into the public domain. The full Rboxlo license is available here.

Roblox Copyrighted Content

No Roblox copyrighted works can be found on here, besides parodies of the official Roblox logo (but falls under Fair Use.) You cannot find any Roblox game executables here. All API endpoints are reverse-engineered from the Roblox API endpoints, meaning that we take the output from the endpoint and try to figure out the technology that generates such result to make it work with the Roblox clients standalone from the Roblox website. No Roblox source code has been used to assist the development of Rboxlo.

The design of Rboxlo makes it so that all you need to set it up is this repository and decent computer knowledge. There is no possible way that Roblox can, all at once, shut down every single instance of Rboxlo living on the internet. If you are worried about Roblox hunting you down, do not advertise your instance of Rboxlo.

Contributing

If you find any problem(s) in Rboxlo, feel free to submit an issue. This includes stuff like vulnerabilities, or even the most trivial issues (such as typoes.)

If you know how to fix an issue, feel free to make a pull request for the issue.

If you would like to suggest a feature or change, submit it as an issue as well; it will be given the appropriate tag once we have seen it.

If you are seeking to contribute or fix an issue, we ask that all contributors mark their contribution as copyright-free to retain the Rboxlo public domain status.

Rboxlo currently has a contributors guide for anyone seeking to contribute. We ask that you read that before engaging in contribution discourse, but it is not required.

Setting up Rboxlo

Read INSTALL.md for instructions on how to set-up Rboxlo.

Fair Use

Copyright Disclaimer under section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, education and research.

Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing.

Fair Use Definition

Fair use is a doctrine in United States copyright law that allows limited use of copyrighted material without requiring permission from the rights holders, such as commentary, criticism, news reporting, research, teaching or scholarship. It provides for the legal, non-licensed citation or incorporation of copyrighted material in another author’s work under a four-factor balancing test.

Note that the project description data, including the texts, logos, images, and/or trademarks, for each open source project belongs to its rightful owner. If you wish to add or remove any projects, please contact us at [email protected].
