Data Together Research

This repository contains a compilation of research for tackling the general problem of data resilience & interactivity in all its forms. This is raw research, and doesn't necessarily need to culminate in a "point". Half the challenge of doing good work is knowing what already exists!

Overview of Contents

  • citizen_science – introductory "landscape survey" for getting acquainted with citizen science
  • data_visualization – survey of some visualization options for archived URLs
  • fairness_in_data – data justice and algorithmic fairness
  • metadata – summaries of some systems designed to infer data and metadata
  • motivations – research motivating different goals in Data Together
  • web_harvesting – summaries of different approaches and issues in crawling web pages

Getting Involved

We would love involvement from more people! If you notice any errors or would like to submit changes, please see our Contributing Guidelines. The nutshell summary is: propose or submit any additions or changes relevant to Data Together. If you have a resource, piece of knowledge, anything that you'd like to share, contribute it! We try to map a topics to directories. Feel free to add more categories. If you'd like to add something that fits more than one category, feel free to put it in both.

We use GitHub issues for tracking requests and Pull Requests (PRs) for submitting changes. Pull requests are welcome and will be merged aggressively.
