Raspberry Pi compatible Docker Image with Hugo - a static webpage builder

Details

Setting up Hugo

mkdir myblog && cd myblog
docker run --rm -v $(pwd):/www hypriot/rpi-hugo new site .
git clone --recursive --depth 1 https://github.com/spf13/hugoThemes themes

Create new article

docker run --rm -v $(pwd):/www hypriot/rpi-hugo new post/viral-hit.md
vi content/post/viral-hit.md

Live preview

docker run -d -p 1313:1313 -v $(pwd):/www hypriot/rpi-hugo server -b http://<ip-of-your-rpi>/ --bind=0.0.0.0 -w -D --theme=hyde

and on your notebook

open http://<ip-of-your-rpi>:1313

Build final HTML pages

docker run --rm -v $(pwd):/www hypriot/rpi-hugo

How to create this image

Run all the commands from within the project root directory.

Build the Docker Image

make dockerbuild

Push the Docker Image to the Docker Hub

  • First use a docker login with username, password and email address
  • Second push the Docker Image to the official Docker Hub
make push
