The Stream Chat SDK is the official Unreal SDK for Stream Chat, a service for building chat and messaging games and applications.
- Messaging: Send direct or group messages, and have the messages persist across sessions.
- Reactions: Every message can be reacted to by multiple users.
- Channels: Messages are grouped within channels.
- Blueprint support: All operations can be made via C++ or Blueprint
- Fully open-source implementation: You have access to the complete source code of the SDK here on GitHub.
- Supports Unreal Engine 4.27.1: Supports the latest version of Unreal Engine, with support for UE5 coming soon!
Free for Makers
Stream is free for most side and hobby projects. You can use Stream Chat for free if you have less than five team members and no more than $10,000 in monthly revenue.
Getting started
- Download the latest release and copy it into the
Pluginsdirectory of your project. - Launch Unreal Engine and ensure the Stream Chat Plugin is enabled in the Plugins configuration page.
- Start integrating Chat into your project! Check out the Tutorial to get yourself going.
