Requirement Specification

Purpose:

Transportation is one of the main key element of basic needs and development for a country. Developed Countries are more advanced in their transportation Management system. As our country Bangladesh is a developing country it has become more important to improve this system and how we think of traveling here. For going to buy tickets from any ticket counter is not always pleasant and convenient for all people moreover its time consuming too. Online Ticket Booking system is the Beginning of new era which going to open the door with enormous possibilities. This system is a browser based system that is designed to store, process, retrieve and analyze information concerned with the administrative and inventory management within a Ticket Management System. This project aims at maintaining all the information pertaining to Traveler, different types of vehicle available in travel management system and helps them manage in a better way. The entire project will be developed keeping in view of the distributed client server computing technology. This reduces the paper work and leads to a paperless office. Through this website any traveler or passenger who is interested in traveling can register himself. Moreover, if any general traveler wants to make request ticket online he can also take the help of this site. Admin is the main authority who can do addition, deletion and modification if required. This system is futuristic, scalable and customizable, easy to use and user friendly, organized, simple. This system can maintain unlimited number of traveler information and the complete history will be available.

Project Scope:

The project’s focus is the development of Travel management system. The main deliverable of the project is the following:

• A detailed requirements analysis.
• Detailed data and process models of the system.
• The system itself.
• User manual.

Overall Description

Product Perspective:

The system is for online traveler’s information. Targeted users are Travelers, vehicle owners.

Project Features:

• Online ticket management system
• Traveler Info Management - Traveler Registration, managing traveler database, recording their phone numbers and addresses statistics.
• A complete report for vehicle owners for decision making purposes.
• Being a web based system, can be implemented throughout the state. Separate user accounts can be created.
• Traveler Register.
• List of Travelers who are eligible for promotions a particular date with contact Number.

Operating Environment:

The product will be operating in all operating system. Also it will be compatible with Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera. The most important requirement is a reliable internet connection with minimum bandwidth of 128kbps for comfortable use.

Design & Implementation:

Product is developed using Sublime Text Editor and XAMPP. The product is accomplished with login facility, so that specific function is available to specific user.

Software Constraints:

The development of the system will be constrained by the availability of the required MYSQL server, database and development tools, and web server.

Assumptions and Dependencies:

• MySQL server to store the database.
• NOTEPAD++ / SUBLIME, XAMPP to run the Product.

System Features

Admin:

Admin is able to observe and maintain the whole system. He also maintains the security. The functionalities are-

Traveler:

A traveler will buy ticket through this site. Each traveler has an individual account and is given a user id and password, which identifies him uniquely. Traveler can know about the details process of ticketing. The options given to each registered Traveler are:

• Login
• Update Information
• Buy Ticket
• Logout

Vehicle Owners/Travel Agency:

Vehicle owners can be really benefited by using site’s report about which route does has how many numbers of passengers. Where the owner should focus more about service and increase or decrease the vehicle numbers. Travel agency also can be benefited in the same way like which promotion is more popular to the traveler and which is not.

Search Option:

A traveler will be able to search any route he desires and know all of the details for his route with the ticketing cost.

Response Sequence:

Only the registered user can log in and log out. When they log in the log in page, the system will check for validity of log in. If the log in and password are valid, the response to this action is the user be able to modify, view, add and all other functions that can be performed on the database.

User Interface:

User interface will describe the all feature of management with the snapshot. This part shows the all feature part by part which are facing the user when they are entering the system. They must follow the rule which is defined the system.

Login page:

This the page after user registered with this system. In this page a user can log in with the valid E-mail Id and password. When the user can successfully log in then the he/she can go to home page. If any user is not registered, then they cannot use the system.
